REFLECTIONS

So [Jesus] said to them, "When you pray, say:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done / On earth as it is in heaven. / Give us day by day our daily bread. / And forgive us our sins, / For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, / But deliver us from the evil one."

Luke 11:2-4 NKJV

A Daily Prayer

Gracious and loving God, how excellent is your name in all the world. May your kingdom come, and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

I come to you today in thanksgiving for the blessing of this life, the health I enjoy, and the many blessings bestowed on my daily life. I thank you for my family, the nurturing love I receive from them, and the love I learned to give to them.

I thank you for the many friends you placed in my life, and for the joy and pleasure I find from their companionship. And I must not fail to thank you for the multitudes of nameless brothers and sisters who serve the world around me in so many ways each day.

And about the pain and suffering from those troubled times, I thank you for the lessons taken away from them. I thank you for reshaping my life with them, and the joy I find from the newly found skills that equip me for new roles and activities you call me to.

Loving God, I look at our world and see how unworthy we are of your love, yet you love us so much that you sacrificed your only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. I ask forgiveness of our many sins, especially for failing to love you as we should, and for not loving each other as you asked us to do. Our sins are countless, please cleanse us of them with the body and blood of Jesus’ loving sacrifice.

Heavenly Father, I love you so; and I come to you today to pray for wisdom, courage, and strength to face whatever the future may hold, and to serve you, precious Lord, for eternity.

I pray these things in the holy name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

 Amen

You are the light of the world,

Richard +
