Matthew 15:19-20a
Well, I’m not going to tell you. Would you? If ever I want to look into the mind of a sinner, I need look no further than what I am thinking.
Oh, I find comfort that most of those ugly thoughts are fleeting. Others are dismissed without ado. But the philosopher’s words ring so true, “As a man thinketh, so is he.”
Ouch!
Isn’t what I do convicting enough to send me to the place I do not want to go? But add the thoughts that dash through my mind to those evil things—well, I need a Savior.
Evil, both in thought and deed, infested mankind when Adam and Eve bit into the fruit from the forbidden tree. Purity lost. And nothing impure will ever be allowed to contaminate God’s sacred home. We need a Savior.
Jesus came into the world to offer a cure. Jesus said to [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
If you do…
You are the light of the world,
